Bodegas Muga

The vineyards of Bodegas Muga are located on the slopes of the Obarenes Mountains, in the heart of the Rioja Alta, where they enjoy a peculiar climate. The unique geography and orientation of the slopes, as well as their location at the crossroads of the surrounding climates (Mediterranean, Atlantic and continental), combine harmoniously to create an ideal climate for grapes.

This combination of climatic influences and soils defines a long vegetative cycle in which the grape and all its components undergo a delicate, prolonged and complex ripening process. This undoubtedly explains the high appreciation of this wine region. Here Bodegas Muga owns 200 hectares of vineyards, but controls up to 150 more from other growers.

Bodegas Muga Spain

In its nearly 25,000 square meters everything revolves around oak. Bodegas Muga has four fermentation rooms with 90 wooden vats whose capacities vary from 3,000 to 15,000 kilograms. Thanks to this wide range of possibilities, the grapes can be vinified individually depending on their quality and the vineyard they come from.

Bodegas Muga is one of the few Spanish wineries that has its own cooperage. Three coopers and a cooper are responsible for working the oak wood in the old way, as in the past. Next to where the wine is made is this space, one of the most loved by the owners and visitors. Seeing the staves bent and mastering the wood the way the artisans do is a unique moment.

And now you can buy directly in their online shop.

Spanish chips in Parasites movie

Korean film ‘Parasites’ has made history by being the first non-English speaking film to win the Best Film of the Year statuette. This is why the fever for the film is causing the most varied results, and latest it’s a Spanish potato chip company that doubled its annual sales in two weeks. This is Patatas Bonilla brand and their products have won exposition thanks to an unexpected cameo role in Bong Joon-ho’s comedy thriller and are already a cult product in Korea.

Chips from Spain. Bonilla potatoes.

Despite exporting tonnes of their products to the rest of the world, the company is a family business directed by its founder, César Bonilla, who is 87 years old now. Despite that fact, like another Spanish company that has taken its name all over the world (Zara), Patatas Bonilla was born in the city of Arteixo, Galicia, and it exports to 20 countries including South Korea where it supplies more than 40 tonnes of its potato chips every year.

However, this figure will fall short, at least this year. After forming part of the atrezzo for the four Oscar winning film, Patatas Bonilla has increased its online sales by 150% in only two weeks. This comes after a multitude of users interactions in all social networks and, in addition, some of them come from recognized influencers and celebrities in the Asian country.

Palacio de los Olivos

The Picual olive trees of Palacio de los Olivos are long-lived and well-built; small in size, dense and with an irregular and extended wide crown. With a perimeter around 1.5-3 m; a thick trunk with a twisted appearance, quite wide at the base and compressed. Branches are thick, twisted, knotty and curved. Olive leaves of the olive tree are perennial and are present in all the surface. They live about 2-3 years and fall in spring, to give way to new leaves.

Oliva Palacios Spain Palacio de los Olivos Best Oil from Spain

Their olives are of medium size and weight, with a medium-high pulp/stone ratio. They have a short stalk. Their skin (epicarp) changes colour according to the development of the fruit, it goes from green at the beginning of the season to black at the end. This change in colour is due to the fact that ripening process causes the olive to begin to dry and oxidise by fermentation. On the extracted oil, its colour is intense green and texture is cloudy. It overflows with an infinite number of herbaceous and fruity aromas, magnificent, powerful, with even spicy notes which impregnate the oil mill and fill it with freshness.

Frequently Oliva Palacios receives some distinction. Not in vain, Spain is the largest AOVE (Aceite de Oliva Extra – Extra Olive Oil) producer in the world, but also produces the best quality extra olive oil in the World. Proof of this is that in all competitions this brand obtains first prizes and special mentions. But if an olive mill such as Palacio de los Olivos receives more than 20 awards in the same year and this places it as a top of olive oils brands according to the EVOO World Ranking, it is no surprising.

Nougats for Christmas

During two centuries the Vicens’ Family has been loyal to the production of the artisanal nougat, and specifically to Agramunt’s nougat. Their origin is documented since 1741, where this Spanish Christma’s special nougat appears on noble family letters, but is known this tradition came to this village from long time.

Nougat activity besides agriculture has been from the beginning the economic engine on this area. From Torrons Vicens they grant the nougat tradition since 1775. As if time had stopped, the expert hands of their craftsmen continue today as developing so dear sweet. Like if the time stops, the expert hands of our craft makers today their always appreciated sweets like old times manufacturing.

Stradivarius pink short

If you don’t wear a miniskirt in summer let alone shorts, unless you’re on the beach and your legs are already tanned. We are sorry to tell you that you’ll still eat those words and thoughts this season. This pink short by Stradivarius has a design that you won’t be able to resist, because not only does it have the color that makes us crazy even though we’re not too feminine wearing it. It’s made in such a way that it’s the key to any look you wear, especially if you’re short and want to gain centimeters without wearing heels.

Stradivarius Spain pink short

That’s only possible if it’s well cut and designed and as in this case, the fundamental thing about these pink Stradivarius linen shorts are high waisted and rise so much that the leg, without doing anything or trying to look for wedges, heels or platforms, lengthen and stylize. But if that wasn’t enough, it also has that wide belt with hawksbill buckle, which we’ve been seeing all winter in dress trousers, and now they go to the shorts to make the same stylized effect on that garment as on the rest of the garments. In short, it reduces the waist by a few centimetres, disguises the curvature of the belly area and all this without losing any style. And that’s why it’s obviously a hit at Instagram, and the fashionistas we follow are sharing them in their best looks in which they are the protagonists.

Of course, the option we like best and they also like it with a contrasting white garment, either in the shape of a men’s shirt, top with straps and with the matching vest that is also sold at Stradivarius.
